A number of anomalies have been cited in the national voter’s register in Lira and Otuke districts.

Residents detected double registration, missing photographs and names of the dead on the register.

Unexpected transfer and repeated photographs were also seen in dwari sub-county.

Lameck Awio, a display officer at Ayere polling station, said Tommy Owii, Francis Emor, Moris Aonyi, Dennis Obong, Joel Abura and Moses Bua found that their names and photos appeared twice.

The display of the register ended last week.

The Electoral Commission (EC) displayed the lists of all persons whose names were recommended for deletion from September 3 to 10 at parish headquarters.

“The purpose of the supplementary display exercise is to enable any person who may have been recommended for deletion to raise an objection to the parish tribunal,” EC chairman Badru Kigundu said recently.
