  • THE Ethiopian Village Restaurant, one of the scenes of the July 11 twin bomb blasts in Kampala, is scheduled to reopen for business after two months of closure.

The restaurant, located in Kabalagala, a Kampala suburb, will reopen on September 11 to coincide with the anniversary of the bombing of the US twin towers by the al-Qaeda terrorists.

According to a statement issued by the embassy of Ethiopia, the occasion will be used to conduct a memorial service for the blast victims.

About 15 people were killed at the restaurant. Al-Shabaab, a Somalia-based Islamic militant group, claimed responsibility.
