THE Government is to assist in compensating the families of the two Makerere University Kenyan students killed last week by a private security guard, the state minister for higher education, Mwesigwa Rukutana, has said.

Rukutana represented the Government at the burial of Nyongesa at Kabula in Bungoma district in Kenya on Saturday.

Delivering the condolence message from the Government, he vowed that stern action would be taken against the killer.

Rukutana assured Kenyan students of protection, noting that the shooting was an isolated case.

The deceased, Ignatius Nyongesa, and Brian Amuoga, were shot at God Is Able Hostel in Kikoni by Richard Hafasha, attached to Snow White Guards, a private security firm, during a guild presidency campaign.
