The preparations for the 18th birthday and coronation anniversary of the Tooro king, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, are in high gear, with kings from Ivory Coast and Swaziland among the guests expected.
The Tooro prime minister, William Nyakatura, said they also expect local kings to attend the event that will be held in Fort Portal town.
According to Nyakatura, construction of the ritual houses for the April 17 event is on-going. He said over sh90m is needed to refurbish the palace.
At the ceremony, Oyo, who is now 18, will take over full powers to lead the kingdom without the assistance of the regents.
King Oyo was installed on September 12, 1995 after the demise of his father, Patrick Olimi Kaboyo II.
