THE Anti-Corruption Court yesterday granted bail to three senior officials in the Ministry of Health who were charged with corruption in connection with mismanaging anti-malarial drugs.

The officials included the Malaria Control Programme officer, Dr. Richard Ndyomugenyi, a senior medical officer, Dr. Myers Lugemwa, and a programme assistant, Martin Shibeki.

The three, who were in charge of the Malaria Control Programme, were last week remanded to Luzira Prison after they were charged with corruption at the Buganda Road Court.

The hearing of the case was set for March 18. Justice Paul Mugamba ordered each of the accused to pay sh1m in cash.

Their lawyers John Jean Barya, Brenda Asiimwe and Jotham Mugarura said their clients would not abscond if granted bail.
