STATE House has warned the public against politicians claiming to be working on behalf of President Yoweri Museveni.

The deputy press secretary to the President, Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka, in a statement yesterday, said State House had noted that there were people who were deliberately using computers to superimpose pictures of themselves on those of the President to dupe the public.

“A case in point is that of Ngabonziza Alex of Bufumbira East Constituency in Kisoro district who craftily published this year’s calendar using fake pictures of himself purporting to be with the President at a function ,” she said.

“This is to individuals intending to do the same during this period to stand warned as this amounts to issuing false information, a criminal offence punishable by law,” Nabusayi added.

Individuals wishing to be supported by the President, she noted, should register with the relevant party organs and go through the due processes lawfully before they can claim to have his support.

She, however, did not say whether State House would take any action against Ngabonziza.
