TWO people have died in Lake Katwe fishing village after eating meat from a poisoned carcass in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
According to Ludwig Siefert, a biologist at Makerere University, a woman who had gone to collect firewood found the meat abandoned in the park and took it home.
She reportedly cooked and shared it with her husband and the couple later died from suspected poisoning.
Siefert told The New Vision on Saturday. that the poison was probably planted by poachers.
