  • NWSC to host congress
KAMPALA-The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) will hold a congress from March 15 to 18 to enhance exchange of experiences and recent developments in the water and sanitation sector. The spokesperson, Miriam Kadaga, said the congress will bring together more than 80 water utilities from over 35 African countries in collaboration with NWSC. She said this will be the 15th African International Water Congress, adding that a new water academy in Bugolobi will be opened at the function.

    Police want more land
KAMPALA-The public has been urged to ask for more Police posts in areas with high crime rates. The Kampala Metropolitan Police Boss, Andrew Sorowen, said although it is the Government’s responsibility to set up Police stations, there are areas which need to be dealt with urgently. “We want each parish to have a police post, especially in Kampala and the neighbouring districts, but we lack land,” Sorowen said. He urged the public to provide the Police with land. Sorowen was speaking last week at a seminar organised by the Uganda Taxi Operators and Drivers Association on road safety and customer care at Nsambya Sharing Hall.
