THE Police are investigating circumstances under which a body of a man was stuffed under a bus plying the Kampala-Kanungu route.

The Kisizi Coach was intercepted yesterday at Kabuusu, a Kampala suburb, after a chase by boda boda riders who had sighted a pair of dangling legs as the bus drove past their Nalukolongo stage on the Kampala-Masaka road.

Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said the bus from the bus park in Kampala was heading to Kinkizi in the west. She said the deceased, about 30 years, was yet to be identified.

“From his pocket we recovered a bus ticket to Kampala purchased from Mbarara on Saturday. He had no identification documents.”

Nabakooba added that the bus driver and his crew said they were not aware of the body.

She said the Police had been deployed at the bus park where they are questioning drivers, conductors, supervisors and luggage handlers.
The body was by press time still at the Mulago Hospital mortuary.
