NATIONAL Resistance Movement (NRM) party leaders in Busia district have been asked to welcome information and technology minister Aggrey Awori.

The Minister without Portfolio and also NRM deputy secretary general, Dorothy Hyuha, appealed to the party leaders to forget Awori’s previous stance against the Movement and work with him to develop the area.

Awori, who crossed from Uganda People’s Congress to NRM in 2007, twice contested against President Yoweri Museveni for presidency.

Hyuha, who was on Tuesday officiating at a belated Women’s Day celebrations at Namungodi Primary School in Busia, noted that Awori was a big catch and the NRM party treasured him.

“If you have differences with Awori, let it be at individual level but not as NRM party,” the minister warned.
Some party leaders in the district, Hyuha added, had not fully reconciled with Awori and were still habouring ill feelings. She said some were not even happy with his appointment to cabinet.

Oliver Tabaise, the chairperson Busia district women’s council asked the President to groom either his wife Janet Museveni or Hyuha for presidency.
