EXEMPLARY: Karungi and Ocen display their certificates

By Steven Candia
TWO officers who investigated the disappearance and murder of five-year-old Edwin Muguluma, on friday received an award from police chief Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura for a job well done.
The Police last week exhumed muguluma’s body from Masanafu Kinonya in Rubaga division, ending two weeks of investigations.
He had been kidnapped from Lugala on July 20 and the case was reported at Old Kampala Police Station.
Kayihura showered praise on detective cadet/ASP Peruth Karungi, the CID chief Old Kampala Police station and William Ocen, the investigating officer.
He gave them commendation certificates and sh1m each.
He said the two had done the force proud, investigating the cases in record time even by international standards and in such an exemplary manner, which other policemen should emulate.
“This is the kind of quality expected of us. It is the attitude I have been talking about, the one the public deserves from police and it is the kind of thing I want the police to have,” Kayihura said at Police headquarters, Kibuli.
He said, Karungi had been steadfast and had persisted with the case that saw her follow clues even up to Masaka.
