PRESIDENTIAL candidate John Ssebaana Kizito has rapped the Government for the insufficient funding to urban town authorities and pledged to increase funding when DP is elected.
Ssebaana, who is also the outgoing Kampala city mayor, was addressing people who turned up for his campaign rally at Boma grounds in Mbarara town on Monday.
“The NRM government has not done enough to provide sufficient funding to town authorities. But I, who was the mayor of Kampala and mayor of mayors in Uganda, my government will plan for the urban centres and provide more funding. I am capable of identifying challenges and addressing the needs of urban centres. Be assured of this,†he said.
Ssebaana said Museveni is aspiring for a fourth term because he came to power in 1986 and was re-elected in 1996 and 2001.
“Museveni already got his third term and is now looking for his fourth term. We need to have a new President. That is why I come to ask for your votes,†he added.
The Mbarara rally was Ssebaana’s last campaign in southwestern Uganda after campaigning in Bushenyi, Rukungiri, Kanungu, Kisoro, Kabale, Ntungamo, Ibanda, Kiruhura and Isingiro districts in the past week.
