FORMER minister in the Obote 11 regime Dr. Moses Apiliga Tako has described the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) as “different sides of the same coin” that should be voted out of power.

He asked the electorate to vote for UPC’s candidate Miria Kalule Obote.
He said President Yoweri Museveni had failed to run the structures that the UPC government built 20 years ago, but instead sold them off to middlemen to exploit the poor.

Apiliga and Miria were addressing the youth at Moyo Multi-purpose hall on Sunday.

Apiliga denied that UPC killed civilians, saying it was Museveni, Kizza Besigye and Mugisha Muntu (FDC) who killed people in Luweero.

“They accuse us (UPC) of killings in Luweero but who led the war, Besigye under the command of Mugisha Muntu under the leadership of Museveni,” Apiliga said.

He said the two parties have corrupt leaders who should be voted out of power if other parts of the country are to develop.

Miria later visited Moyo hospital, which she said was among the first 23 hospitals UPC built.
She promised to revitalise cooperative unions to fight poverty in homesteads.
