The UPC presidential candidate, Mrs. Miria Kalule Obote (left), has advised voters to reject the FDC party leader, Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye.

She said Besigye was a major contributor and direct beneficiary of the NRM’s 20-year rule that left many Ugandans impoverished.

“He came with them, worked for them and ate with them for a long time without any due consideration for the plight of the people. It was only after he had filled his stomach that he stepped aside and started grumbling,” Mrs. Obote said.

She said the same government that Kizza Besigye served and cherished had plunged the country into unbearable debts.

“The only solution is for us to change the regime. However, I appeal to you to reject leaders like Kizza Besigye,” Miria Obote said.
She was on Wednesday campaigning at the Old Bus Park in Mbale town.
