Thousands of people set off at Kololo airstrip in the Kampala MTN Marathon yesterday
David Kipkosgei Mutai led a 1-2-3 sweep for Kenyans as he emerged winner of the MTN Kampala Marathon that started at Kololo Airstrip yesterday.
Kipkosgei, who bagged sh5m for the 42km race, was closely followed by fellow Kenyans, Naibei Ruto and Thomas Ngelei, who got sh2.6m and sh1.8m respectively.

Uganda’s female podium hopeful, Dorcus Inzikuru, dropped out at the Game stores stretch, having covered only 4.5km out of the 10km. She cited muscle strains. It was a day for more record breaking as 96-year-old FDR Gureme, completed the 10km race.
