EAC MPs want joint tourism board

The East African Legislative Assembly is pushing for the establishment of a joint tourism board and a fund which will be used to promote tourist destinations as a block.

The proposal is contained in the East African Tourism Bill that is currently before the East African Legislative assembly.

Under the law, the 5 member states will be mandated to market destinations in all countries within the East African community, Kate Kamba, a member of the assembly has said.
