President Yoweri Museveni is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to join other African heads of state and government gathered for the 2nd African Union Committee on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) meeting on Tuesday.
The 2nd meeting of the Committee of ten African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) is being held at the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The one-day meeting is chaired by Ethiopian Premier Meles Zenawi who is also the coordinator of CAHOSCC.
The meeting is expected to map out strategies that will help address the root causes of global warming and present them to the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit slated for 7-18 December.
PM Meles Zenawi, who currently represents the AU at the G-20 gatherings, is to lead Africa’s delegation to the Climate Summit and deliver Africa’s proposals to the meeting in the Danish capital.
Museveni was this morning received upon arrival at the Bole International Airport by the Ethiopian Energy and Minerals minister Alemayhu Tegnu.
Others at the airport to receive him included Uganda’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Mull Katende and the embassy staff.
The CAHOSCC includes ten countries i.e. Algeria, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Malawi, Uganda and South Africa as well as the AU.
