Radio journalist Serumaga out on bail

A Radio talk-show host who was arrested last week for allegedly uttering seditious statements has been released on bail.

Kalundi Serumaga was released this afternoon by the Buganda Road Court Magistrates Court.

Serumaga was arrested on Friday night outside WBS television as he emerged from a live talk show called “Kibazo on Friday.”

He was seized by security operatives who hisked him away.

Thestatements, allegedly uttered by Serumaga were intended to bring hatred, contempt and to excite disaffection against the person of the president, according to prosecutor .

Serumaga will re-appear in court on October 14.
