Plight of orphan girl hosted by Admin
A 14-year old girl in Bushenyi who stoned to death a 40-year-old man she accused of trying rape her is stranded in Police custody. No one has offered to stand surety for her. The girl is an orphan who lives alone with her 9-year-old brother. Is Uganda doing enough to protect orphans? What should be done? Have your say.

SILENCE! OBSERVANCE: God Be With You Till We Meet Again....

Dear U.P.Congress & Concerned Wellwisher,

Heavenword bound (Phil.3:14) some of our dear ones of U.P.
Congress this weekend rushed to Kampala in support of
justice and fredoms for humankind. May their now
departed souls finally enjoy Eternal Rest in Peace...

'The tree of freedom is watered with blood', it is said. Our fellow
Uganda citizens have again this weekend most innocently shed
theirs in the haphazard battle towards the restoration of our
freedoms, human rights and dignity - hopefully not in vain.

May their dear souls eternally enjoy full Rest In Peace, as

we put faith in the lord, not in human credentials (listen here)

We the concerned are fully with the bereaving famililies
in deep thought now and always. May Their Souls R.I.P.

un fair to valunables by tumwesgye gilbert authored by DAVID ASIIMWE on 17. January 2010 at 18:10
Rating to the orphan girl, Ugandansare becoming imposible due to the laws not being followed because to mei think they are week. Back to the girl i think she has done the right thing if its true that she was protecting her self from this old disrespect full old man.
On the side of sanding for surety we the government, church, human rights activits and humble christians because this i think it was bad but fair to normal understandings.
There is also un fairness (corruption) some where because in the normal some one with fourteen years should not be take to prison according to the ugandan law.
Thaxs.

i agree with you when u suggest a topic, but to mention kanzini versus issues about social injustices in our society is heart breaking, may be under politics but nt as a social issue.kazini was what he was,did his part and died a shameful death, in all i enjoy every part of this forum

Really? Benard authored by icearc on 17. January 2010 at 12:52
A domestic incident culminating in the death of a drunk adulterous corrupt general is somehow of more relevance than the safety of the vulnarable? Furthermore, the events surrounding and leading to his death will somehow contribute to the betterment of Uganda............... For crying out loud!
May his soul rest in piece!

Plight?: why not give us a topic about the army general Kazini now dead? authored by bernard on 17. January 2010 at 06:35
We are now almost about the same point. Our president has worked hard to calm all the storms of the ups and downs of our beloved Uga in regard to our past history. And now we can begin to talk about the country where we had that terrible that dictator IDI Amin and thank God that dictator is now history and hopefully never in life will that to come back in life in another shape or form. All we need now is an "intelligentia" policy to protect and develop all kids/children/adults and ....~including thoughts about the Draru Murdering of the Army general. I thought we needed a separate topic for a special discussion...

you cant talk good governancy without pillars. authored by sserunjogi Herbert on 17. January 2010 at 01:15
in most african countries leaders are voted based on revolutionary cridentials, armies are liberation tools, jugdes are struggle heros, ministers and snr officials ur buddies, and govt tenders are given to war veterans.there is no independence of the judiciary, everybody owes allegancy to the president not to the state.gd governancy not yet,for now its you and me.

@sanders.i love yr balanced views authored by sserunjogi Herbert on 16. January 2010 at 21:38
i agree with u entirely, evil will never win or silence the human spirit.alot has been achieved though more deserves to be done,we will get there as people, but in emergencies and crisis like this case individuals need to stand up.

I know its a shame about African leaders.without forgetting DRC Congo rattling poverty while huge mineral deposits capable of making it(Congo) one of the richest nations in the world being enjoyed by individuals.
However we should realize its a serious problem that we have to fight and overcome.we have seen problems larger than African politics overcome.who knew USA could be led by a black man or who knew blacks would get free in the first place?
I believe there will be a way,we need to believe that we can change our world.and it begins with you.

the current leadership in Uganda fought worse leadership than they are.at least that's a sign things are fairing. The next phase should be soon enough..
Otherwise Uganda is not gona stay this way,no way!!

yes we can!
