Imagine a whole professor of human medicine cum veepee cum upland rice expert sitting before a juju man and praying for KISANJA,probably smoking a pipe and chanting some wierd words to appease the gods!
Really some of the professors today are not role models at all.
Remember Prof.Isaac Newton Ojok (former Education minister 1980-1985) who also believed in Alice Lakwena's magic!
Shame on them! |

| Why should they visit shrines where you find your fellow man? why not turn to the almighty God who gives you breath and gives you what man cant give you?its stupid and hopeless to go to the shrine yet your fellow man who is in the shrine cant give you the breath that you dont have.God is above evrything because he sees all corners of your life than that creature in the shrine.so they shouldnt they should only seek God because he gives the best answers that bring peace to your life and neighborhood. |

| WE ARE ALWAYS CONCERNED ON WHAT THEY SHOULD/NOT DO. THEY ARE ALL GROWN UP PEOPLE SO THE CHOICE IS THEIR. IF THEY HAVE WEAK RELIGIOUS BELIEFS THEN IT IS SAD THAT THEY HAVE TO GO IN SHRINES HOWEVER THAT DOESNOT MAKE THEM WRONG BUT RATHER WEAK. |

Am glad the host has used the phrase 'visit shrines' and not 'pray in shrines'.
Some people have been using the latter to mean what the V/P did in masaka. We should change that. Though yo' dictionary may be defining it as praying, lets reserve it for the other purpose.
We all know this country's motto, 'For GOD and my country.' Not gods but GOD.
So 'kusamilaring'(not praying) in shrines is against the vow we took as a nation. Worse still for national leaders. Prof.Bukenya amused me when he said that he prayed in his own catholic way. In a shrine? being led by a witch doctor? what a joke.
We should all know that shrines are for the devil and wheather or not we are national leaders, we should not visit them.

Traditionally Shrines are places of Worship! Yes but worshiping who? The gods like Mukasa, Kiwanuka and the like, or the God (I know there is only one God) that all Ugandans should stand for (For God and my country).
So young, EGESA don’t mislead us with your “Kusamira mu sinzizo lye Namirembe” business. The averment is that “things of the dark” take place in these Shrines. How many of our children, even adults have been sacrificed in your preferred “places of worship”. Many marriages have been wrecked by those “bakongozi”, the works of their hands have ruined many peoples’ lives while their propaganda was at times responsible for the spread of aids for there is nothing scientific but everything is explained from “bakuloga” point of view. These people abuse their clients’ ignorance and have been responsible for many woes in my country etc. we know all the things that take place there and freedom of association and worship aside, a role model and national leader VP Bukenya should know better and bear in mind that he cannot be seen in such places because it sends out wrong signals to the rest of the world.
He should resign. |

Traditionally shrines are places of worship,
so my dear Africans"Ugandans" do not sea them as evil.Giving an example, Omuganda would say "Tatta yagenze oku samira mu sinzizo lye Namirembe cathidral" meaning Dad went to praise/pray at Namirembe cathidral.Do not blem VP Bukenya. GUMISIRIZA JOSEPH |

| shrines are related to graves authored by hassan on 9. February 2005 at 04:54 |
Hi again,
Is it secret to any African that shrines are direct relatives of graves? If not why do many go there to have conflicts resolve d -
in the absance of their enemies. We have to tolerate shrines without becoming ostriches
with heads in sand about what they can do.
We do not have to divorce shrines from the graves and their grave impacts, simply to promote our cultures of shrining. There is good and evil in all things, including shrines, as late wycliffe said. We have to try and look for the good part for our good.
I am facing the reality of accepting minds or values we cannot change & not throwing the debate in all directions. Leaders may go visit any place in the open with media attn.
Amin for e.g had the whole world present via media attn. during the firing squad on trees.
No, leaders should not hide their actions:
as Kamarade wrote to Bamudaga..YES Bamundaga
On top of that add "Being a leader" hey!
We should put off our suits of FEAR for our home made COURAGEOUS kaundas and venture where others go but not want to mention it.
Appears as if by mentioning, their Identities are revealed! Not strange. They have reasons to fear.
I think next we should encourage the priests or witches to come out with their visitors books! you will be surprised.
Yes go VP. I w'd 've loved to read that H.E Y.K.M7 visited there as well. GO VP GO VP.
